I’m Zach, an NYC based founder, engineer and product person.
Currently I'm incubating new companies in infrastructure, developer tools, biotechnology, therapeutics and more at Union Square Labs. I'm also investing in early stage companies out of whoa.vc.
In 2016 I cofounded a company called Timber, which built developer tools for infrastructure monitoring and security, as well as a very popular open source project called Vector. The company was acquired by Datadog in 2021 and we merged our technology into the platform while continuing to grow the project.
Before that I worked at SeatGeek in 2018 as an engineer and designer while the company was very young, and helped it grow to become a leading ticketing platform for live events, music and sports.
I graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2014, where I studied economics, corporate strategy and computer science. During that time I started a few companies like Bitcast (a platform for developer tutorials), VinylLoop (a subscription business for new release vinyl records) and worked on plenty of other projects.
